Transparency Challenges and Opportunities

Marshall Allen at ProPublica investigates the health care industry and highlights opportunities for improvement. In his article linked below, he talked with brokers, employers, industry groups and government officials about how the lack of transparency in broker compensation hurts employers and their health plan members.

Dave Chase and several Health Rosetta advisors were interviewed as part of the research and unsurprisingly, the article makes clear that a high-performing health plan needs to be built on the foundation of a transparent advisor relationship. As the Health Rosetta movement grows, we hope to see more and more brokers voluntarily move to transparent, aligned incentives. The alternative, which we also support, is for the government to regulate this industry similar to the financial services industry.
